What is MFR

MFR, or Myofascial Release, is the intentional application of body work to free the fascia. Your fascia is your entire connective tissue system and is quite literally in every part of you; your heart, your blood vessels, your muscles, your brain and so on.

By focusing on the fascia and slowing down the bodywork, we begin to allow the body to restructure itself into its ideal form of alignment. This is done by freeing fascial adhesions that are naturally created over our lifetime. Fascia is extremely strong and will stay over-tensed if it isn't properly freed. Over time, all the small and large, physical and emotional traumas we endure build up and create your fascial patterning. This commonly is observed in the twisting and pulling of fascia across the body; similar to that of a knit sweater that has a thread pulled, effecting every stitch.

It is my job to cater each session to the individual and assist in the release of this pattern to allow for more balance, movement, and reduce pain.

Ultimately, there is nothing that MFR cannot help with. If even a little bit. Your body is desperately trying to tell you what it wants, lets tap into it and get you living a pain-free life.

The world of bodywork is vast and you might be wondering what the difference is between massage and MFR. Here are some helpful links to get you started:

Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress-related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. MFR is an effective tool for managing this stress, which translates into:

  • Decreased anxiety.
  • Enhanced sleep quality.
  • Greater energy.
  • Improved concentration.
  • Increased circulation.
  • Reduced fatigue.
